In memory of Damon Fewer. Damon’s 9th Angel date was May 22, 2016. This poem was submitted to the local papers in his memory by his father, Sean Fewer.
A thousand memories of you I hold
Thoughts held so close and dear
All a treasure to behold
Of a time when you were near
But there is one I fear to face
On the day that changed our world
Hope and dreams, no longer in place
All had become unfurled
From memories, we cannot run
Whether good or bad
Happy ones to reflect upon
Dwell not on ones so sad
Your time was short, but the gift you gave
Still burns in many hearts
A love so pure we’ll forever save
Firmly bonds us though we’re apart
If the veil that lies between
Would allow just one thought through
I would warmly bask in the times we’ve seen
And would thank you for being you
